What "exclusive" actually means
The Standard Summit Tour can run with up to ~15 riders mixed together — different families, couples, and solo travelers all riding the same guided tour. The Exclusive Summit Tour is the same route, same operator, same guide-led format, but reserved for your party only. No other riders. No mixed groups.
The practical impact is mostly social and pacing. With your party alone:
- Guide moves at your group's pace — not the slowest open-tour rider's
- Photo stops happen when you want photos, not on a schedule
- Conversations during stops stay within your group
- The experience feels personalized rather than logistical
For couples and small families (2–6 riders), the upgrade is usually meaningful. For larger groups (6+), the per-rider cost evens out vs the open tour and you get the social benefit.
Who books this
- Couples. Most-booked use case. A snowmobile ride where you're actually riding together, not in a tour group of strangers.
- Bachelorette parties of 4–8. The default recommendation for smaller bachelorette groups. The 2–8 group size hits exactly the range where Zephyr Cove's Private Group minimum (6 riders) is borderline — and the private-guide format makes the bride more of a centerpiece. - Families with kids. Pace control matters more with younger riders — and the guide can adjust to your kids' comfort rather than the group's collective pace.
- Small friend groups (3–6). Snowmobile ride as a shared experience, not a shared bus.
- Special occasions. Anniversary trip, birthday, milestone celebration where you want the experience to feel less commercial.
Same route detail as the Summit Tour
The route is identical to the standard Summit Snowmobile Tour: shuttle from Zephyr Cove Resort to Hope Valley staging at 7,200 ft, then groomed climb through Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest to 8,300-ft Sierra Crest viewpoints, Faith Valley overlook, Charity Canyon rim, historic Sierra cabins. Full route description on the Summit Tour page →
What's included

Pricing
Exclusive Summit pricing is per group rather than per rider, with rates depending on group size. Smaller groups (2–4 riders) see the biggest per-rider premium over the standard Summit Tour. Larger groups (8+) often pay similar per-rider rates to the open tour while gaining the private experience. Verify current rates in the booking widget below.
How it compares to Zephyr Cove Private Group
The Exclusive Summit and Zephyr Cove's Private Group Tour are the two private snowmobile options on the south shore. The choice comes down to terrain:
| Exclusive Summit (LTA) | Private Group (Zephyr Cove) | |
|---|---|---|
| Terrain | Hope Valley, Sierra Crest | Above the lake, ridgeline views |
| Min group size | None (couples OK) | 6 riders |
| Duration | 2 hours fixed | Custom (2hr to half-day) |
| Best for | Couples, small families | Bachelor parties, corporate, reunions |
