Private Group
Snowmobile Tours.

Your party only — no other riders mixed into your tour. Bachelor parties, corporate offsites, family reunions, and any group of six or more that wants a snowmobile day on its own terms. Custom duration, custom route, custom pricing.

What "private" actually means

When you book the standard Scenic Lakeview or Ultimate Experience tour, you're added to a tour that other riders also booked. Group sizes can run to thirty riders. A private booking removes that — your party is the entire tour, with a dedicated guide and no other riders mixed in.

This matters for three reasons: pace (the guide moves at your group's speed, not the slowest rider's), photos (no waiting through other groups' photo stops), and the social experience (your party stays a party rather than dispersing into a crowd of strangers).

Who books this

  • Bachelor and bachelorette parties. The most common use case. Eight to twelve riders, often combined with bachelor weekend itineraries in South Lake Tahoe (party boat, casino night, ski day). See the dedicated bachelor and bachelorette planning guides for tour selection, lead times, weekend itineraries, and audience-specific FAQs.
  • Corporate offsites and team building. Companies running offsites at Heavenly or Edgewood often add a private snowmobile day. Snowmobiling works as a team activity in a way most ski days don't — no skill differential leaves anyone behind.
  • Family reunions and multi-generational trips. Mixed ages and abilities. Driver/passenger pairing on a single sled means even non-driving family members ride along.
  • Wedding parties. Pre-wedding or rehearsal-week activities for parties of 8–20.
  • Friend trips of 6+. If your group is six or more, the private tour usually works out per-person to similar pricing as the open tour after factoring the booking premium — and you get the dedicated guide.

What's flexible

  • Duration. Standard private tours run two or four hours, mirroring the Scenic Lakeview and Ultimate Experience routes. Custom durations available on inquiry.
  • Route. Beginner-friendly Lake Tahoe overlook routes, longer Ultimate-style routes, or custom routes for experienced groups.
  • Pace. Your guide adjusts to your group. Strong riders can move faster; first-timers get more instruction stops.
  • Add-ons. Photo packages, group meals at Zephyr Cove Resort, or combination bookings with other Aramark-operated activities (boat rentals, etc.) — inquire when booking.

How pricing works

Private group pricing is per group, not per rider — which means the per-rider cost drops as group size grows. The 6-rider minimum exists because the operator's cost of dedicating a guide and sweep rider is roughly the same whether your group is six or twelve.

The booking flow for private tours is typically: inquiry first (date, group size, preferred duration), then the operator returns a quote. Standard 2-hour and 4-hour private tour pricing tiers are published; custom routes are quoted individually.

Booking lead time

Book private tours 3–6 weeks in advance for peak season (Christmas, New Year's, Presidents' Day, MLK weekend). For mid-week winter dates outside holiday windows, 2 weeks is usually enough. Larger groups (20+) should book 6–8 weeks out to lock in dedicated guides.
